Richmond is the first AHS licensed stallion produced out of the Honey Locust Farm breeding program. He was bred, born and raised during his early years at Honey Locust Farm in Chapel Hill, NC. He represents the culmination of 22 years of breeding experience. He combines an elegant modern type with the strength and stamina traditionally associated with the Hanoverian. This magnificent stallion placed 2nd in Dressage among the Hanoverians presented in the 100 day testing in 2007. He received a Dressage score of 139.05. This is not surprising considering that he boast both Rotspon and davignon in his pedigree. His walk and trot both scored 8's, while his incredible canter received a score of 9! These magnificent gaits must be seen to be fully appreciated. Richmond's conformation scores are equally impressive with 8's and 9's throughout.
In 22 years of handling stallions and green horses, Lucile Broadley (breeder and part owner) has learned the importance of temperament. Richmond's temperament earned a score of 9 at the 100 day test. This is reflected in his kind and willing disposition. He is an absolute joy to ride, train and handle!
Richmond is loved by all who see him, top judges and trainers included! He is currently campaigning at 4th Level and schooling all of the PSG/ I-1. He has won every class he has entered so far this 2011 season.
An absolute angel in a horse's body! Richmond is a top young dressage horse and breeding stallion that gives my toddlers pony rides. If that doesn't say everything!!!
This gentle trait is evident in all his offspring. His babies are like puppy dogs! Richmond currently has 3 crops on the ground and more coming!
